Home
The
major goal of our team is to understand the mechanisms of endogenous
brain repair processes occurring in neurodegenerative diseases, with a
particular focus on Parkinson Syndromes.
Our core
competence is experimental modeling of neurodegeneration and the study
of endogenous neurogenesis.
In close
cooperation with our Clinical Movement Disorders Unit (Director: Prof.
Dr. WH Oertel) we aim to gain insight into the pathophysiology of
neurodegenerative diseases to develop novel protective or restorative
treatments.
